Saint Michael is a spiritual warrior who fights for good in the war between good and evil. He is an archangel. He is looked up to as the one who keeps the Church safe, fights for justice, and heals the sick. In art, Saint Michael is often shown holding a sword, a banner, or a pair of scales and fighting Satan as a dragon.
Catholics believe that St. Michael has four jobs: to fight Satan, to take faithful people to heaven when they die, to protect Christians and the church, and to call everyone from Earth to heaven to be judged.
In Catholic folk magic, Saint Michael is most often used for protection. He is expected to protect your home, keep you safe from harm, protect you from your enemies, and keep the police from bothering you. He also works for troops, EMTs, security staff, people who are dying, and holy death in dangerous waters. He asks for honesty instead of gifts. Feast Day, also called Michaelmas, is on September 29.
