Shea Butter – Yellow Raw

$12.00

Raw Shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii) comes two different ways – in its natural state and refined. Natural shea butter is yellow in color and has a nutty scent to it. Refined shea butter has undergone a cleaning process so it is white and odorless. Which one you decide to use depends totally on personal preference.

Raw Shea Butter is a versatile natural product known for its multitude of skin and hair benefits. It’s notably effective in promoting cell regeneration and moisturizing the skin due to its rich fatty acid content, antioxidants, and vitamins. These properties work together to improve skin tone, soften and plump skin, and even slow the aging process.

Shea Butter is also widely recognized for its ability to relieve dry skin, ease irritation, prevent cell damage, and provide sun protection. It can improve conditions such as eczema and reduce skin swelling, acting as an emollient to soften or smooth dry skin

For use on the face, raw Shea Butter can be beneficial, especially for dry, sensitive skin. However, for those with oily or acne-prone skin, it is recommended to apply sparingly and adjust to the desired moisture level. Shea Butter can also hydrate chapped lips, soothe a dry scalp, condition hair, protect hair from heat, and soften skin and hair.

Description

The primary difference between the two lies in their processing and color. Yellow Shea Butter is usually raw, has a potent odor, and may contain more impurities. It gets its bright yellow color from the addition of natural additives like yellow-colored herbs or palm oil, or from the root of the Borututu tree, which has a yellow/orange core that’s shredded and added to the butter.

On the other hand, Ivory or white Shea Butter retains its natural color and might have a milder scent. Some believe that yellow Shea Butter packs more nutrients than white Shea Butter because the refining process for the latter may cause it to lose some of its nutrient content.
