Goldstone is a man made glass with several myths regarding its origins. Also known as “Monk’s Stone”, legend dictates that an order of Italian Monks spilled copper shavings into a vat of melting glass and Red Goldstone was born. Another legend is that monks, in an effort to create Gold, created Goldstone instead. Goldstone is made by melting natural oxides and colored glasses in a low oxygen environment. Green Goldstone is derived from Chromium and was created to resemble the natural green colorings of Aventurine. Although man-made, Goldstone holds many metaphysical properties including deflecting unwanted energies, abundance and protection in the spirit realm. Green Goldstone connects with the Heart Chakra removing despair and providing healing.
