Run Devil Run oil is one of several charm oils purportedly used by Mexican curanderos to ward off misfortune and eradicate jinxes. Other names include “Vete Diablo”, “Corre Diablo”, “Contra Enemigo”, “Keep Away Evil” oil, etc.
The oil was mentioned in an April 1992 Los Angeles Times article that described the sale of “Go Away Evil” oil and “Run Devil Run” bath oil in a botánica, which were credited with warding off gang members. Many use it as a protection oil as well as an oil to create a barrier against evil.
