Astrological Signs of Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius, & Capricorn
Amethyst is a variety of quartz which occurs throughout the world either in crystalline or massive form. The associated color ranges from deep purple to pale lavender. The presence of manganese in clear quartz produces amethyst, while the additional amounts of iron content vary the purple colouration. The deepest amethyst colors occur in those crystals from Uruguay, Siberia, Africa, and Colorado. The most common occurrence is a medium purple color which is found in Brazil. The very pale lavender variety of amethyst has been found in Oregon. Amethyst is a “stone of spirituality and contentment”.
It facilitates transmutation of lower energies into higher frequencies. It balances the energies of intellectual, emotional and physical bodies. It bestows stability, strength, invigoration, and peace. It has, since historic times, been used to encourage and support sobriety. It is an excellent stone for those attempting to find freedom from addictive personalities, whether oneself or another. Amethyst is said to be one of the stones used in the breastplate of the high priest.
